		<description>Tee, you're right about the seat count, which is limited by what the schools can offer.  But it's impossible that everyone sitting for the SSHAT test score high enough to merit admission. More important, there are thousands of bright kids who deserve good, rigorous gen-ed high schools -- who might or might not thrive in the specialized schools -- of which there's not enough supply at all.  The city needs schools for the 80%-ers -- not just for the 90%+ crowd and the many, many kids who require extra help meeting the demands of high school.</description>

		<description>It's not that only 20% make the cut. There are only about 5400  seats. So unless they make these schools larger or open up more specialized schools it will remain this way.</description>
