Special-needs school fair 2009

It’s that “school search” time of year again and, if you have a special needs child, you’ll want to attend the Jewish Ccommunity Center’s 2009 Special Needs School Fair this week.
Last year I wrote about how helpful this event was for me and my family. That still applies! This year the fair will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

And NYC DOE finally released the districts’ “Turning 5″ orientation fair schedule, starting November 30 and running through mid December — an important part of the ageing out process for children with IEPs who will be 5 in 2010. The updated version of the “Turning 5″ guide is not yet ready but at least parents of preschoolers with IEPs should be getting info about these fairs now and try to attend…
