Protest closing of PS 369

With the city’s lowest college readiness neighborhood rate of only 8%, angry Mott Haven parents and students, along with Councilmember Mark-Viverito, will lead a march Thursday afternoon from PS 369 to the local post office, delivering letters to the Dept. of Education illustrating their love for their school and their opposition to the Mayor’s continuation of a failed policy of closing schools instead of working to improve them. PS 369 parents believe the Dept. of Education has abandoned their responsibility to support and help improve their beloved school and will demand their resource-starved school get the help it needs from the City to get back on track. Participants include Councilmember Melissa Mark-Viverito and about 100 parents and children angry with DOE move to close school.
The event will start on: 11/15/2012 9:00 pm And will end on: 11/15/2012 10:00 pm.
