Social Media and Your Tween/Teen: Free Parenting Workshop offered by Rutgers Community Center. Why is social media so important to middle school and high school aged kids? How can parents guide children to use social media responsibly and safely? How do parents model social media behaviors, and what impact does this have on kids? Adolescent psychologist Michelle Canarick, Ph.D., leads a free parenting workshop on how to help your tween to teenaged children manage this important aspect of their lives. This workshop will include practical exercises to help parents understand the role social media plays in their children’s lives, how to respond issues and challenges that arise in a healthy and constructive manner, and more.
