TOPIC: BSI questsions

I was wondering if anyone can shed a little light on the odds of getting a seat the Brooklyn School of Inquiry for a K student that is eligible to apply. I don't have a sense of how many K seats there are and how many students applied for those seats in past. I know there is a lot more demand than seats but I was curious.

If you child scored a 97 or 98 she has no chance of getting a spot.

You should try contacting the Parent Coordinator; she might be forthcoming with that information.

You should also lurk on the "schools" board at urbanbaby.com. It gets a lot more traffic than these boards and there will probably be a lot of posters who have that kind of information.

Thanks for the reply. I will ck the other forums and will call the parent coordinator. If it is helpful for anyone else that reads this and has an idea, my daughter scored in the 99th percetile on both tests.

Last year my daughter scored a 99 for entering K. After touring all the city-wides it became pretty clear that the odds were not great. Three or four times the number of 99s as spots and sibling preference also limiting seats. It's a lottery, so good luck. We absolutely love PS 32. We were zoned for 261 and 32 was the only district GT that tempted us. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the school.

Hi GT@32. I can't seem to figure out how to email you directly but I toured PS32 today and really liked it and would love to talk to you more about your experience. -- Meryl

PS 32 parent here: Sure, happy to answer questions, but also can't figure out how to do this directly. I'll try to check the site again today.
