TOPIC: incoming 10th grade

incoming 10th grade 12 months ago #9938

I've tried searching for this answer far and wide but can't find it. We live in NYC and have homeschooled since K. We are registered as homeschooling with the DOE. We're considering putting our son in high school 2012/13 for grade 10. So obviously we've missed the application process. We're fine with our zoned high school, so, since he's incoming as a 10th grader do we simply enroll him? Where do we go to enroll him (the school or somewhere else?)? Also will he be given credit for the classes he did as a homeschooler for 9th grade? He did pre algebra, integrated physics and chemistry, world geography, English, Spanish I, and Civics as an elective. thanks!

You should go to the nearest enrollment center to make arrangements. Ultimately, the principal will examine your child's records to determine the correct grade placement.
