TOPIC: integrated algebra regents for 6th grader

integrated algebra regents for 6th grader 1 year, 2 months ago #9580

My son took integrated algebra as a 6th grader at NEST+m. He then took (as was required by the school) the integrated algebra regents on which he received 94. He is now a 7th grader at NEST+m and has been told that the state doesn't recognize scores taken by 6th graders and so has to take the integrated algebra regents again. This seems redundant and a bit of a problems since he also has to take a couple of other regents tests. Can anyone suggest a route to getting his earlier algebra test counted.

thanks

Check again. DC in 8th grade. Nest allowed him to keep the Regents credit, but not the course credit should he attend another high school. If he stays at Nest, he will need to take an additional math course (not Algebra)to fulfill the 4 year requirement. If he attends a different high school, it will depend on the high school's policy whether or not your child can forego Algebra.
