District 32

Serving Bushwick and the northern tip of Bedford-Stuyvesant, District 32 has long been one of the lowest-performing districts in the city. The neighborhood suffers from a poor reputation as a crime-ridden and neglected area. In recent years, artists priced-out of neighboring Williamsburg have moved into Bushwick pushing real-estate prices up, and longtime residents out. The tiny district is home to one of the best and most competitive middle schools in the city: M.S. 383 Philippa Schuyler School. The district is home to Woodhull Hospital.
