Hillcrest High School is a lively institution offering career-oriented programs, including a pre-med institute that has steered many students toward M.D. and R.N. degrees. Despite its location in a run down neighborhood and its bloated enrollment-- more than 3,000 students pass through metal detectors daily -- the school is calm and pleasant. The building's high ceilings and wide hallways easily absorb the rush of students during change classes. The school's nice selection of electives, clubs and teams offers something for everyone.. . .
