Spruce Street School opened in fall of 2009 with three kindergarten classes and a goal to serve East Tribeca’s growing family community.

For the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years the school is incubating  on the ground floor of Tweed Courthouse, the Department of Education headquarters. It will relocate to the new Beekman Tower building for the 2011/2012 school year. At its permanent location, Spruce Street will expand to serve grades two through eight.
