PS 276 Battery Park City, planned as a pre-k-8 school, opened in 2009-2010 to alleviate over-crowding in increasingly residential downtown Manhattan. Set to serve a diverse population in Battery Park City, PS/MS 276 began with three kindergarten classes and, will add a 6th grade in 2010 when it moves to a new "green" building
