The Urban Assembly Institute for New Technologies (New Tech), set to open in September 2009, is a "STEM" school, meaning it focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math. Its mission is to produce innovators who will be ready for the kinds of jobs that are not yet invented, according to school founder Travis Brown. New Tech, a middle school which will open with three 6th grade classes, is the latest entry in a network of schools run by The Urban Assembly, a non-profit. . . |
