The Department of Education announced that PS 90 will begin to phase out in June 2009. Current PS 90 students in grades 2-3 will remain at PS 90 as it phases out. Students in grades K-1 will have first priority to enroll at the two new schools, the Family School and the Sheridan Academy for Young Leaders, which will open in the building in September 2009. Students zoned for PS 90 will also be given priority at the Grant Avenue Elementary School, which will open with grades K-1 at IS 166 in September.
