One of the most popular schools in Brooklyn, PS 29 serves upper-middle-class and wealthy families as well as working-class families and those who live in housing projects. The school has a nice mix of whites, blacks, Hispanics, and Asians, as well a number of Arabic-speaking immigrants. The school is increasingly attracting families who have the means to send their children to private school, and some parents are moving to Cobble Hill just to enroll their children at PS 29. The school gets calls from as far away as London from parents who have heard about the school and want to move to the neighborhood, Parent Coordinator Lori Hiller told us. |
