Long a large school, Dewitt Clinton High School has suffered from severe overcrowding since other large neighborhood schools in the Bronx, including Roosevelt, Taft and Walton, were reorganized into small schools with limited enrollment in 2003. Large numbers of special education pupils, English Language Learners, and students who enroll over the summer were assigned to Dewitt Clinton because many of the new small schools. . .
