The school has established an extensive college admissions center, decorated with pennants of colleges visited or applied to, equipped with computers for researching higher education opportunities, and headed by a full-time college counselor who begins working with students when they are freshmen. The school has also introduced Advanced Placement courses in biology and world history, with plans to add literature in fall 2005. And it is setting up a venture to prepare students to graduate into programs at the New York Institute of Technology, including one that can lead to jobs at NASA.
