New Dorp is a large high school serving communities spread across an expansive swath of Staten Island. Nestled between one of the busiest intersections in the borough and a sprawling, grassy stretch of Gateway National Park, the school is housed in a massive, contemporary building originally designed to accommodate several small schools. It has five computer labs, a health clinic, newly renovated athletic fields, and a distance learning center that has been used to conduct video conferences with students in other schools and to present. . .
