Manhattan Village Academy is housed on two floors of a renovated office building with an industrial-style curved staircase. Large open halls are kept in pristine condition by Principal Hector Geager, who is in evidence everywhere and knows everybody. There's a spacious, inviting cafeteria with round tables and chairs; a large well-equipped library; and cozy nooks set in the wide hallways for class performances and socializing. Some of the classrooms seem small for teenagers, but Geager tries to compensate by keeping most class sizes. . .
