A small, safe school for kids who think they may want to become teachers--or who simply desire the close attention that a small school brings--Teachers Preparatory Academy opened in 2002. It moved into its permanent home in Brownsville in 2004 and was to graduate its first class in 2006. When it was launched, the school attracted a talented group of young teachers, and many of them have enthusiastically stuck with the school.
