In a city filled with new public schools testing an array of ways to educate and teach students, the Hellenic Classical Charter School is surely one of the most novel. The school, which emphasizes Greek language and culture, grew out of the Soterios Ellenas school, a longstanding Greek-Orthodox parochial school that now houses Hellenic Classical, too.

HCCS is a wonderful school. I am very fortunate to have my children there. Not only are they learning a second language, Greek, once they get to middle school they will learn a third, Latin!... read more

My son is in 2nd grade and we have been so happy since day one with HCCS. He had a rocky start in kindergarden (lots of separation anxiety) but the staff was so patient and understanding. Now... read more

HCCS is the BEST school ever. The entire staff is amazing. My son started HCCS in kindergarten 06 until present. He can speak and count from 1-100 in Greek and much more.He knows a lot about... read more
