Perched atop cliffs overlooking the Hudson River, PS 187 is a true neighborhood institution. It's a place where teachers like to stay for a long time, parents happily send their children and traditions are honored with vigilance. Old fashioned science fairs and field days have been annual events for decades. Middle school students dutifully avoid walking down the center aisle of the auditorium during an assembly, a privilege they know they'll earn on their graduation day.
