Opening in the fall of 2006 with a kindergarten and first grade in the PS 158 building in Brooklyn, East New York Preparatory School plans to boost student achievement by increasing the amount of time they are in class. According to the school's website, students will have two periods daily of math and literacy, and the school day will stretch from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 190 days a year.
