Ask teachers and parents at the Little Sparrow School to describe their educational community and the word "oasis" comes up. It's a fitting appellation for a school that has long seemed to tuck itself away from the chaos of District 9. Perhaps, it is the relatively small number of students, 300, in a district with schools that often have more pupils than their buildings were designed to accommodate. Or, maybe it's the fact that the CES 88 ends at third grade and that only one grade has to withstand the pressure of standardized. . .  |
