PS 20 is located on the border of the increasingly upscale brownstone neighborhoods of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. The well-kept building features classrooms and hallways covered with student artwork, much of it produced in a program run by Studio in a School, a not-for-profit organization that brings professional artists into public schools. There are also partnerships with programs run by three area arts powerhouses: the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The building is shared with a popular middle school program, The Urban Assembly School for Arts & Letters. |
