NOVEMBER 2007 UPDATE: Principal George Foley retired in June 2007. Former assistant principal, Edward Santos, is the new principal of the school. OCTOBER 2004 REVIEW: Principal George Foley is justifiably proud of progress made at IS 93, the school he has headed since 2000. When he first arrived as a math teacher in 1976, it was known as a traditional, safe junior high school and he subscribed to the "I talk and you listen" mode of instruction. I worked in this school briefly and I could tell you that Mr. Santos tries really hard to help students change but he needs to be tougher on them. when i worked there it wasn't as bad as people... read more |
