It was a full house on a Friday morning at PS 114 in the peninsula community of Belle Harbor, a village perched on a tiny strip of land just blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. Former presidents were represented by a tiny Teddy Roosevelt, complete with mustache, a bewigged George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln in a beard and stovepipe hat. First Ladies Laura Bush and Hilary Clinton were represented, too, as each child stood confidently at the microphone and recited facts about his or her character.
