Work at Insideschools
|
Editorial Intern Insideschools.org is seeking an editorial intern for the fall/winter semester. You will work directly with our editorial staff to update content on the website, create school reviews, news blogs, bi-monthly newsletters, and social media content. Our goal is to provide practical tools to navigate the city's school system as well as a platform for communication among parents, educators, students, and other advocates for public education. Insideschools.org is a project of Advocates for Children of New York. For over 37 years, AFC has worked on behalf of children and youth who are at greatest risk of academic failure due to poverty, race, ethnicity, disability, homelessness, immigration status/limited English proficiency, or involvement in the child welfare or juvenile justice system. The position is unpaid but course credit is available. We are seeking individuals who are willing to work 10-15 hours each week at our Manhattan offices. Knowledge of, and a passion for, journalistic writing, education, and web development are a major plus. If interested, please e-mail a cover letter, resume and writing samples to dfletcher@advocatesforchildren.org. AFC is an equal opportunity employer that actively seeks a diverse staff and especially encourages applications from a broad spectrum of people, including people of color, with disabilities, and of diverse gender identities, sexual orientations and socioeconomic backgrounds.
