Comments Policy

We require all users to comply with our Terms of Use when preparing and submitting comments through the Insideschools.org. website. We also suggest that users review our Privacy Policy.  In addition, below are some tips and requirements for preparing and submitting comments through Insideschools - please read them and ensure that your comment complies with these tips and requirements before you submit your comment through the website:

  • We ask that readers exhibit common sense, fair play, and courtesy when submitting comments. Comments are most effective when readers give careful consideration to their thoughts before posting them. Comments that include details or facts such as "my daughter has improved in math because the school gives her individual tutoring during the school day," are helpful; personal attacks and sweeping accusations, such as "the principal is lazy," are neither helpful nor welcome.

  • Useful comments help inform others about what's going on at a school. They may give an update about how a new principal is faring, talk about a successful tennis team or chess club, or give a "shout out" to an accomplished teacher or principal. Constructive criticism is also welcome, as are comments that disagree with our characterization of the school. Specific examples are better than sweeping generalizations. So, instead of writing "the principal discriminates against girls," consider commenting, "the girls athletic teams at the schools do not receive enough attention." Personal attacks against a teacher, school administrator, or other school staff are not welcome, and we reserve the right (but have no obligation) to remove such comments and/or to block or restrict Insideschools users who make such comments from posting on the website, temporarily or permanently.

  • We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to notify a school's principal when a comment is posted about his or her school. Principals are, of course, welcome to respond to comments posted on Insideschools.

We reserve the right to change this Comments Policy from time to time.
