Our Review

The Harbor View School offers hands-on projects and lots of field trips around the city.

Opened in 2013 with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes, it will add a grade each year through fifth grade.

Native Staten Islander Carol Mongiello taught at PS 236 and PS 222 in Brooklyn and is the mother of three New York City public school children. A Cuban-American, Mongiello is fluent in Spanish.

The after school program is run in partnership with the Childrens Aid Society and hosted at the Goodhue Center. Other collaborations include the Sundog Theater, Staten Island Museum, Staten Childrens Museum, Staten Island Yankees, The Lighthouse Museum, The Noble Museum and the Staten Island Zoo.

The school is housed in the former St. Peters High School for Girls and St. Peters Elementary School. It has been newly renovated and stands by the ferry overlooking the harbor. The building has 20 classrooms, a special education and resource room, a room for science and art and a separate music room. It also includes a new gymnasium, auditorium, library and cafeteria, as well as an early childhood play area.
