The dilapidated building that formerly housed P.S. 151 on the Upper East Side stood as a representation of its deeper issues: poor academic performance and low enrollment. The school was closed by the city in 2001 and the building was demolished. In September 2009, eight years later, PS 151 reopened in a new home on 91st Street, in a building that formerly housed the Our Lady of Good Counsel School.
