For those of us who stuck it out in lower performing elementary schools because we saw the potential in spite of the school being identified as "a school in need of improvement" by NCLB and becoming an empowerment school, it has been amazing to watch the transformation. However, why does the DOE only compare white/hispanic and black children? Reading the DOE's chart, one quickly realizes that there are many ethnicities absent and I'm wondering where they fall in the chart. Also, what about CTT and special needs children? Shouldn't we be proud of all of our kids? Not just three subsets?
