Is the DOE cancelling these Pre-K programs or are they relocating them to sites outside of the school buildings? I'm hearing both. Does anyone know the actual truth. Have any official statements been made that these programs will not exist? Relocation would be difficult for those with siblings in the schools, but for those of us with only one child this plan is not that bad. Cancellation is bad news all around!

Yes, solidarity was the buzzword, but you wouldn't know it from this account! The rally was not just about PS 41 and PS 3. There were also tons of parents from the Upper East Side as well as other parts of the City, whose children or shut out or whose children go to overcrowded schools threatened by the current situation. P.S. 151, which lacks a school altogether, was represented in force.
