Just to play devil's advocate, some have questioned the full motives of this father, given that he sold the book and movie before he ever set out on the trip. If it helped his son, wonderful. I really want to try hippotherapy; I believe in the power of horses. I just hope a goal wasnt' to capitalize on Rowan.

To each's own, kids learn at different levels. That does not mean you have to folllow the author's ways. This might be his way to better the life of his kid. Your way would be different, because it's different with every child.I have not read the book but i do wish the family well.

Marni...I loved this book. The way I summed it up in an email to Mr Issacson was...as different as our journeys are the emotions are all the same.
