Insideschools has learned that Jodi Hyde, formerly an assistant principal at NEST+M, another Manhattan citywide gifted school, was appointed (interim acting) principal at Anderson.
Downtown, at the Clinton School for Writers and Artists, the new interim acting principal is Joseph Anderson. He was formerly an AP at the High School for Art and Design.

Here’s an update - Principal Culot assured parents and teachers at the school that he would take care of everything having to do with the move and stay on top of things with the DOE in relation to the move. This has not proved to be the case at all. He seems to have done practically nothing before he left. We have a great staff and we’re used to pitching in, but it was highly irresponsible of him to pretend to take care of things.

We’ve just learned that another West Side principal — this one in Chelsea at the Clinton School for Writers and Artists in District 2 - is leaving her post. No word yet on a successor for Principal Jeanne Marie Fraino.

To #2: the timing is challenging of Mr. Culot’s departure. But he’s sticking around until August, well past the move date which is good. As for fundraising, under Chancellor’s Regs the parent’s fundraising group of any public school is the PTA.

Culot was the prime force behind the move of Anderson to 77th St. and he’s not even going to stick around to even see it through. This spring, he also effectively hamstrung the parent’s fundraising arm, Friends of Anderson, to bring it more under his control. What was the point if he was going to pack up and quit his $130,729 job for a cushy spot in the suburbs?
