When I tried to get that vote restored in the bill, I was told the Legislature wanted to be consistent with the new non-voting representation on other Councils. These councils are not entirely new, the high school and special ed councils were established and were reaffirmed in the revsions to this law along with the addition of an ELL council. It's disappointing that they wouldn't use the renewal of the law as an opportunity to increase the student presence. Thank you for pointing that out, sorry if it wasn’t clear in the post.
