One million plus public school students are expected back in school today, though it's unclear whether attendance will be spotty given the awkward start to the 2010-11 school year. Some families have decided to make Monday, September 13 their first day of school, choosing to squeeze in one last trip or to protest the September 8 start.
Regardless of how our readers felt about the 2010-11 school calendar or the other challenges faced in 2009-10, including those that lingered on throughout the summer, the majority of our poll takers in June gave the last school year high marks.
