It seems that most parents are embracing the new school year, with a similar attitude to the one they had at the endof2009-10 -- optimistic.

In our last poll we asked our readers to share their forecast for the new school year.  Among the nearly 500 who weighed in, roughly two-thirds are looking on the bright side, with a full 25 percent of voters anticipating a great year.   Another 41 percent of readers are cautiously optimistic about the prospects for 2010-11.

The remaining 36 percent of voters forecast doom and gloom, with the dour bunch falling evenly into two camps:  the worried and the downright pessimistic.
