District 11

District 11, in the northeast Bronx, includes family-friendly neighborhoods like Pelham Parkway, Woodlawn, and Co-op City, as well as City Island and areas near major hospitals like Einstein and Montefiore. The district offers a mix of housing—single-family homes, co-ops, and rentals—ranging from affordable to higher-end.

P.S. 153 Helen Keller School (Pre-K-5) serves students with severe disabilities, in general education, and in a gifted and talented program. P.S./M.S. 498 Van Nest Academy (K–8) provides a supportive environment with a strong emphasis on academic growth and student well-being. P.S. 481 Steam Bridge (K–5) integrates STEM education, offering hands-on projects in science, technology, engineering, and math from an early age.
