High school admissions appeals letters were mailed to students’ homes today Friday, July 23,  according to the central enrollment office at the Department of Education.

Every year 8th and 9th graders who are unhappy with their high school matches -- or whose circumstances have changed since they applied to high school --  have the opportunity to appeal for placement in a different school. Usually the results of the appeals are distributed to students before the end of the school year, but this year there was a delay.

The DOE declined our request for data on how many appeals were filed, and granted.

Let us know when you receive your response -- and whether it's good news. If not, remember you can always re-apply for high school this fall.
