While more than 6,600 8th graders are still sweating out this year's high school admissions process, it's time for the roughly 80,000 students in next year's class of 8th graders to start thinking about high school.

Throughout the month of May, the Department of Education will be hosting high school information sessions for middle school students and families in all five boroughs. All sessions start at 6:30 p.m. The last session is on May 27.

For tips on applying to high school, read our guide in the basics section.

Full details about the high school information sessions are available on the DOE website.
