A few thousand seats are still available in pre-kindergarten programs even after the second round of admissions, according to the Department of Education.

If you have a child turning four years old by December 31 and you are still looking for a pre-K program at a public school or community organization, check out the list on the DOE's website. Or call  718-935-2009 to find out where there are seats available near you. It's unclear yet exactly how many open slots there are but the DOE estimates there are a few thousand. The list shows limited availability in some especially popular or crowded districts, such as District 2 in Manhattan, districts 15 and 20 in Brooklyn, and districts 24 and 30 in Queens.

The deadline to enroll is October 29!
