During Fall 2022 we sent out a survey asking families to tell us how they currently engage with their children’s school and how InsideSchools can further support them.

Offered in English and Spanish, our short survey covered a range of topics. They included the frequency with which parents communicate with teachers and other parents, how often parents and guardians help out at school, the degree of support they offer in their children’s learning, and their overall experience with their children’s schools and teachers.

We received a total of 252 responses from families citywide with children in grades 3-K to 12. However, many who responded had children in grades 5 and 8. The survey was administered during the peak of middle and high school admissions season, which likely explains the overrepresentation of 5th and 8th grade families.
