Kiderific Nursery School has respectful and nurturing teachers. Children enjoy computer time, sand and water tables, and a housekeeping area for imaginative play.

Teachers listen carefully to kids talking to help them think more deeply. "The intensity of listening, the respect, is unusually high here," Farina wrote in a follow-up letter to the school.

Teachers are always learning; for example, they all read a book about good read aloud practices, such as stopping to ask questions when you read so they could model it for children.

Kiderific is located a few blocks away from PS 71, a large, safe, popular neighborhood school serving kindergarten through 8th grade. (Lydie Raschka, web reports, July 2016)
