Bronx High School of Business

Grades: 9-12

Our Insights

What’s Special

Students create their own businesses.

The Downside

Students have lots of catching up to do

The Bronx High School of Business (BHSB), housed in the Taft Educational Campus, offers students the chance to create their own businesses with a Virtual Enterprise program. Some get paid internships and industry certification with Microsoft Office Suite.

The small school has many new immigrants and students with special needs. Most 9th graders have weak academic skills. Attendance is spotty.

Admissions: In recent years, the school has had room for all students who apply. (Clara Hemphill, DOE data, August 2018)
