Our Insights

This is a Pre-K Center, which only serves 3- and 4-year-olds. Pre-K Centers were set up by the Department of Education as a way to expand the number of pre-K seats in areas with little room in regular public schools. Most only offer pre-K for 4-year-olds, but some also offer 3-K for 3-year-olds. Some Pre-K Centers are co-located in a building with another school. Others operate in their own space such as a renovated storefront or closed parochial school.

Why might this program be a good fit for you? At Pre-K centers like this one, the entire staff works with this age group. You should consider this program if you want your child to attend with only other young children. If getting a spot in a school that is in your district is a higher priority, you might want to look at a local elementary school with a pre-k program.
