PS 9 students agree they are challenged in their courses and that the schools programs, classes and activities encourage them to develop skills outside academics, surveys report.
The school, which serves over 600 K-8 students, is located in seven different sites. The student body consists of learners diagnosed with emotional disturbance, autism, developmental disorder, global developmental delays, expressive, receptive language, communication disorder, and other health impairments. The attendance rate for the 2015-2016 school year was 86.1 percent, according to the Quality Review.

ADMISSIONS: Citywide. PS 9 is part of District 75, a network of 69 schools dedicated to New York Citys students with disabilities who require increased attention. District 75 provides educational, vocational, and behavioral support programs for students who are on the autism spectrum, have significant cognitive delays, are significantly emotionally challenged, have a sensory impairment or have multiple disabilities.
