What’s Special

Safe school for students with emotional difficulties

The Downside

Little information available

PS R373 is a safe and orderly school where students agree that bullying does not happen frequently, surveys report.

The school, which serves about 500 children in Pre-K through 5th grade, is located in six sites throughout Staten Island. The school offers crisis intervention, guidance, occupational therapy, physical therapy, attendance, psychological services, nursing and family outreach to students who demonstrate severe, long-standing and pervasive emotional difficulties, according to the Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP). The attendance rate for the 2015-2016 school year was 90.0 percent, as stated by the CEP and we read in the 2015 Quality Review that the quality of teaching at this school is good.
