The Downside

Little information available

In a building shared with two popular schools,PS 304 and MS 101, PS 10X is safe and orderly, with little bullying, according to school surveys. Teachers overwhelmingly recommend the school to parents and agree the principal is an effective leader, surveys say. The three principals get along and the elementary and middle school have long integrated some students from PS 10X into their classrooms.

PS 10X partners with Marquis Studios in grades 1-3,whose teaching artists bring in special classes in music, circus arts, puppetry, percussion and garage band.

The school publishes a newsletter with important dates, tech tips, and celebratory blurbs featuring staff and students with photos.

PS 10X, which serves children ages 3 to 21, is located in nine sites across the Bronx. The pupils have disabilities which include: moderate to profound intellectual and physical disabilities, autism, and significant emotional disabilities. The attendance rate for the 2015-2016 school year was 85 percent and according to the 2015 Quality Review, the quality of teaching is good. There is also a Universal Pre-K program, according to the Comprehensive Education Plan. [photo from school website]
