The Downside

Little information available

PS 188X, a school for children with various special needs, is an overwhelmingly safe school where students feel that bullying does not occur frequently, surveys report.

The school, which serves over 450 Pre-K through 12th grade students, is located in three sites throughout the Bronx. The attendance rate for the 2015-2016 school year was 86.3 percent according to the Comprehensive Education Plan.

Students develop daily living and prevocational skills, the Quality Review reports. Specifically, students may receive training at school-based worksites such as the School Store, Woodshop Co-op, and Haven Caf or off campus in settings such as at the New York Public Library, Goodwill, Daughters of Jacob Nursing Home or the Office Management Training Program, the Quality Review states.
