PS X811is a safe and orderly school where teachers trust the principal and students agree there is little bullying, surveys report.

The school, which serves over 600 students grades 6-12, is located in the Bronx. Mainly, the school supports students with autism, learning disabilities and multiple disabilities. The attendance rate for the 2013-2014 school year was 83.1 percent according to the Comprehensive Education Plan.

According to the Quality Review, the quality of teaching at PS X811 is good and the school has an emphasis on vocational training. Students are given the opportunity to participate in work programs at the New York Public Library, the Bainbridge and Pelham Parkway Nursing Homes, the Gap Outlet, CVS, Staples and Lehman College.

More than 200 students participate in a horticulture program. The Quality Review writes, the school developed an indoor/outdoor facility to educate students about healthy eating habits, issues concerning the environment, and developing essential work skills. (Katie Safter & Hugo Segal, web reports, August 2017)
